inner collects the data you provide: emotional memories (“orbs”), including titles, summaries, emotions, triggers, needs, symbols, body signals, and journey events. we also collect your email address if you join the waitlist, and basic account information for authentication.
your emotional data is used solely to provide the inner service — storing your memories, enabling semantic search, and tracking your emotional journeys. we do not sell your data. we do not use your personal emotional content to train ai models.
data is stored in google cloud firestore with per-user access controls. vector embeddings for semantic search are stored in google cloud vertex ai with user-level restrictions. all data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
inner uses firebase (google cloud) for authentication and data storage, vertex ai for semantic embeddings, and auth0 for oauth in the chatgpt integration. the ios app uses apple’s storekit for subscriptions.
we recognize that emotional and psychological data is highly sensitive. we treat all memory orb content as confidential. access is strictly limited to you and the ai assistant during your sessions. no human at inner reviews your emotional content.
you can delete individual memories at any time through the app. you can request full account deletion by contacting us. all data including embeddings will be permanently removed within 30 days.
inner is not a mental health service, therapy tool, or medical device. it is a personal reflection and journaling tool. if you are in crisis, please contact a mental health professional or call 988 (suicide & crisis lifeline).
