Secure Attachment

Comfortable with intimacy and autonomy. Can depend on others and let others depend on them.

Secure Attachment is a pattern of relating where individuals feel comfortable with both intimacy and independence. They trust others, communicate openly, and resolve conflicts healthily. This attachment style develops from early positive experiences with caregivers, fostering a sense of safety and worth. It exists because it promotes healthy relationships and emotional resilience, rooted in attachment theory (Bowlby, Ainsworth). Securely attached individuals have a positive model of self and others, low anxiety, and low avoidance in relationships.
